The Casa Villa sits on the Sugar Hill ridge above Mt Irvine and sleeps up to 27 across seven bedrooms.

• Christmas dinner: a fully equipped chef's kitchen, indoor dining for everyone under one roof, and more outdoor dining around the infinity pool.
• Christmas night: the private theatre and games room keep kids and teens busy while the adults linger over dinner.
• Boxing Day: Mt Irvine Beach and Stonehaven Bay are about five minutes down the hill.
• Group size: the base rate includes up to 18 overnight guests. For more than 18, message us before booking to confirm pricing for your group.

Big families with kids: The Fairway Villa, Lowlands

The Fairway Villa sits on the Tobago Plantations golf course and sleeps up to 26.

• The table: a Japandi-style dining room seats 18, and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen.
• For the kids: a private pool with a waterslide, a jacuzzi, a games room with pool table and foosball, and a kids bunk room that sleeps 8.

The outdoor cook-up: The Heart Villa, Canaan

The Heart Villa has five en-suite bedrooms and sleeps up to 16.

• A large gazebo with an outdoor TV, BBQ area, outdoor kitchen and fire pit, made for a Christmas lime around the heart-shaped pool.
• A crib is listed for the youngest guests.

Young children: The Nest Villa, Canaan

The Nest Villa has five bedrooms and sleeps up to 16.

• A large garden with a swing set around the private pool, plus a BBQ and patio area.
• Close to No Man's Land, Mt Irvine, Pigeon Point and Buccoo beaches.

The Heart and The Nest are both in Samaan Grove, Canaan, a gated community with 24/7 security. Two related families can book both and still be neighbours.

Smaller families: The Beach Collection, Stonehaven Bay

The six Beach Collection villas each have 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a full kitchen, and sleep 6, sharing a private, gated compound with a pool and a staffed poolside bar used only by guests of Villas 1–6. They sit side by side on Stonehaven Bay, so two or three families can take a villa each and still spend Christmas together.

Old Year's Night at the villa: the house rules

Plenty of families want to see in the New Year together at the villa. That's welcome, but our larger villas have rules, so plan ahead:

• Tell us about any party or event before you book. At The Casa Villa, events need prior approval and carry a separate event fee. At The Fairway Villa, parties and special events must be disclosed and approved before booking.
• Music curfew at The Casa. Out of respect for hilltop neighbours, amplified music must end by 10:00 PM. DJs, live bands and outdoor sound systems need prior written approval. Acoustic and indoor entertainment can continue later.
• Quiet hours at The Fairway are enforced.
• Declare every guest. Overnight headcounts and day visitors must be agreed in advance. At The Fairway, day visitors aren't permitted unless approved in advance.

In short, think of the villa as the place to gather, eat and rest, not a fete venue.

Getting to Tobago for Christmas from Trinidad

• Book the villa first, then travel. Villas are one of a kind. Flights and sailings are more flexible, but they sell out over the holidays too.
• Air bridge: Caribbean Airlines flies Piarco to ANR Robinson airport in about 25 minutes. We can arrange an airport pickup/transfer.
• Ferry: the inter-island ferry runs from Port of Spain to Scarborough and can carry your car. That helps if you're bringing presents, coolers and beach gear. All our villas have free parking.
• Arrival: check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM. If you land early on Christmas Eve, plan a beach stop or lunch first.
